Page Industries, the Indian licensee of Jockey, is exploring locations for a new manufacturing plant with a proposed investment of up to Rs 3,000 crore (US $31.67 million), as it looks to expand production capacity and meet growing demand for branded apparel.
The company is considering locations in Karnataka, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Telangana for the proposed facility, which could take 12–18 months to build, according to Managing Director V. S. Ganesh. He noted that the project is currently at the blueprint stage.
The company also plans to operationalise two satellite manufacturing facilities near its existing large plants in Odisha and Karnataka early in the next financial year. Page Industries currently operates 16 manufacturing facilities, according to the company’s website.
Alongside manufacturing expansion, the company plans to add approximately 125–150 stores annually over the next four to five years to strengthen its retail presence.
Digital channels currently contribute around 16–17% of the company’s business.
Ganesh also stated this share could reach the 30% range over the next three to five years. Online sales have tripled over the past five years, and the company expects further growth in digital channels.
However, rising costs amid inflationary pressures linked to the Middle East conflict remain a challenge. Instead of passing the entire cost burden on to consumers, Page Industries is focusing on improving productivity, streamlining sourcing and manufacturing operations, and increasing supply chain efficiency.
