Kurabo International, one of the major textile trading firms of Japan, has experienced 10 per cent boost in their productivity with the adaptation of Lectra cutting room solution.
It is worth noting here that the Japanese firm had earlier planned of implementing Lectra’s solution to bridge the existing gaps such as lack of skilled labour and high manufacturing cost.
Hiroyasu Kamohara, Chairman of Board, Kurabo International, explained, “Manufacturing domestically is getting increasingly expensive, but keeping production going in Murakami and Takeda is important to us because it gives us more control over product quality.” However, unwilling to give up their domestic production sites, Kurabo started using Lectra’s solutions.
Markedly, Lectra pattern making software Modaris helped the company in streamlining its product development process. Satisfied with the results, Kurabo further implemented marker-making software Diamino and fashion cutting machine Vector to deal with the issue of lack of skilled labour. The implementations, thereby, helped the company in reducing the man power by 20 per cent, as per the company’s claim.
Moreover, the technology is assisting Kurabo in reducing fabric wastage too as it eliminates the errors of material quality and fit check. Therefore, Kurabo has been able to speed up the process and provide quick deliveries to the market while maintaining the product cost.
Kurabo group is a powerhouse in Japan textile industry. It produces clothing for high profile brands like Wacoal, and Miki house as well as uniforms and casualwear for its in house brand.
