
Groz-Beckert Asia Pvt. Ltd. and The Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology (NIIFT) have come together to set up a skill development centre for the underprivileged students in Ludhiana (Punjab), India.
Groz-Beckert Asia is a fully owned affiliate of Groz-Beckert, Kg of Germany who are the precision component and systems supplier to the textile industry globally.
The newly set up training centre was inaugurated by Anton Reinfelder, Managing Director, Groz-Beckert Asia and Inderjit Singh, Registrar, NIIFT.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by various players from the apparel and textile industry.
Under the association, NIIFT has given space for this training centre while Groz-Beckert has offered machinery, equipment, furniture and other related installations including IT peripherals.
Additionally, Groz-Beckert will provide necessary financial aid for the smooth functioning of the training centre.
It is being said that the three-month training programme will be offered without any fee.
After completing training at this centre, the pass-outs will become employable in the apparel and textile industry. Further, the centre will help these students in finding jobs.
The content of the training course has been designed looking at the current and future needs of the industry.
In another development, Groz-Beckert Asia also inaugurated its new office in Ludhiana recently looking at the needs of the local business and industry.
