Active Clothing Co Ltd an apparel manufacturing and design company has initiated a capacity expansion programme for its sweater and T-shirt manufacturing divisions by procuring 106 fully computerised flat knitting machines from China-based Ningbo Cixing Co. Ltd.
The new machinery will be deployed across the companyβs Flat Knitted Sweaters Division and Circular Knits (T-shirts) Division. The machines are expected to be installed and commissioned in a phased manner during FY27, as the company looks to strengthen production capacity and improve manufacturing efficiency.
According to the management, the expansion will enhance productivity, broaden the companyβs product range and help meet the requirements of its growing customer base. The additional capacity is also expected to support higher production and sales volumes, contributing to revenue growth and improved profitability.
The latest procurement will add significantly to Active Clothingβs existing knitting infrastructure. The company currently operates what it describes as the largest fully-fashioned knitting setup in a single factory in India, comprising 210 Shima Seiki machines, 119 Stoll machines, 164 Cixing machines, eight Khau Heng specialty machines and 16 China Shoe Machine units.
With the addition of 106 Cixing machines, the companyβs Cixing fleet will increase from 164 to 270 machines, representing an increase of nearly 65%. The expansion strengthens Cixingβs presence within Active Clothingβs knitting operations while complementing its existing Shima Seiki and Stoll machinery base.
