With more than 35 years of experience in automation of mechanical work, development of cutting devices, special assembly and construction of machines, WEDA from Germany has been a pioneer organization in providing the industry with innovative products for streamlining their operations and minimizing their expenditures. For now various thread/tape/lace trimming equipments and attachments have been the focus; these devices not only provide a better finish to the sewn product but also eliminate the time wasted in manual trimming. The tape cutter and belt loop trimmer from WEDA are also marketed in association with SICAMA, Taiwan.
WEDA Tape Cutters

The tape cutter WA-1102 has been designed specially for pneumatically cutting laces, ribbons and belt loops for flat bed machines and is equipped with features like finger protection, blow-out device and safety device. The technology has application in padded garments, tents and canvas with the variants of the WA-1102 having differentiations in terms of the cutting width ranging from the usual 50 mm to 120 mm, 40-50 mm for thin material and 150-300 mm for trimming thick material. One of the variants takes just 200 milliseconds in the whole process of opening, cutting and closing. It reduces the waste generation up to 95% and caters to the Juki MF78 series flat-lock machine and the Yamato VG2703.
A unique variant of the tape cutter is the tape feeding device with cutter, specially designed for sewing borders to table cloths, footmats and mattresses. The process being highly skill-oriented, usually takes up a lot of time and rework in absence of a skilled operator. In this variant the tape is guided by the turning device through the pleating device and transported by air-pressure to the presser foot, thus de-skilling the process to a significant extent.
Belt Loop Trimmer

The WA-1090 belt loop trimmer for trimming the loop ends of already sewn loops on jeans and other products with loops comes with a suction device for better control while trimming belt loops. The loops are cut off extremely short, guaranteeing high quality finished product. With an average cut rate of 600-700 loops per hour, the equipment has an adjustable height for operating while sitting or standing. There are two variants of the belt loop trimmer, with a 35mm and 42mm racking distance. The life of the knives present in the device ranges from 1 to 3 years.
WEDA Guillotine
The WB/WC-0290 guillotine device is apt for obtaining an optimum trimming of fine tapes and thread chains on flat seamer/feed-of-the arm machines. The device can be positioned for imparting the cut within or behind the stitch plate. The cut within variant provides the cutting width of 10 mm thus reducing the waste generation and the one with cutting behind the stitch plate provides cutting width of 22 mm.

With experience in automation of mechanical work, development and production of cutting devices and construction of machines for last over 35 years, developing even the smallest components is made easy without any hassles. More than apparels, the cutters are applicable in tape, lace and thread trimming used in the manufacture of carpets, rugs and mattresses. [/bleft]
It is compatible with different versions of the Pfaff FS703, Union 32600 and Yamato FD62. Guillotines are available depending upon the required cutting widths, ranging from 20-30 mm small guillotine to heavy duty guillotines for 250-640 mm. A distinct type of guillotine is the chopper type cutter which trims without the use of a lower knife, for cutting widths of 30-80 mm. This device is compatible with flatseamer, overlock, chain stitch and flatbed machines. All the guillotines mentioned provide smooth passage to the material being sewn from both the sides of the needle.
Thread Chain Cutter
The thread chain cutter WA-1169 is equipped with scissors, double/single acting cylinder and adapter plate. It has been designed specifically for trimming thread chains, seam tapes and edgings. The cut is affected by moving the foot switch, whereby a valve is rerouted and releases the cutting procedure. A unique variant of the thread chain cutter has a sucking mechanism for thread cutting for Overlock and Chainstitch machines. This product is suitable for trimming long seams of thin material and in combination with an air-saving device. The device is available for machines provided by Juki, Pfaff, Kansai and Mauser.
