In a move to strengthen sustainability initiatives, Idcol and ABA Group have partnered to improve energy efficiency, water resource management, and environmental standards across ABA Group’s industrial operations.
The collaboration was announced through a ceremony in Dhaka, which was attended by senior leadership from both entities. This builds upon their successful engagement history through Idcol’s Energy Efficiency window and Biogas Program. Specifically within the readymade garments (RMG) sector, this extended alliance is dedicated to fasten the adoption of advanced energy-efficient technologies and renewable energy solutions.
ABA Group which is known for leading sustainable apparel manufacturing by forming the first LEED Platinum factory in Bangladesh, now runs multiple LEED-certified facilities and has implemented cutting-edge systems for wastewater management, water reuse and energy optimisation.
The Chairman of ABA Group, Sajjadur Rahman Mridha, stated, “Commitment to responsible manufacturing is at the core of our ethos. We are able to improve our environmental performance and set an example for sustainable industrial practices, thanks to this partnership with Idcol.”
“ABA Group’s sustainability vision perfectly aligns with our mission to promote resource-smart industrial projects,” said Alamgir Morshed, Executive Director and CEO of Idcol. “We work together to increase the momentum for green manufacturing in Bangladesh, achieve cost savings and improve the environment.”
In future, the cooperation will explore renewable energy projects including net-metering, rooftop solar installations and the integration of low-carbon infrastructure throughout ABA Group’s facilities.
