Cornish-born sustainable clothing and accessories firm Finisterre is expanding its retail reach this year with three new outlets throughout the UK.
This year, the first store to open will be in Cambridge. By the end of March, the 2,300-square-foot business at 23-24 Sidney Street will open. According to the company, it will be made to cater to Cambridge’s “active outdoor community” by providing a carefully chosen range of Finisterre’s goods and services to maintain equipment in good working order.
The brand’s first physical location in Wales will open in Cardiff in April as a follow-up. The 2,100 square foot store, which is situated in Cardiff’s city centre at 27–29 Royal Arcade, will introduce a new audience to the brand’s history of cold-water surfing.
The second-largest Finisterre store in the UK will open in Poole in May. Offering a large selection of performance apparel and environmentally friendly goods, the 2,500-square-foot store at 8a Parr Street will develop into a major gathering place for South Coast outdoor and watersports aficionados.
As the brand seeks to expand its physical retail presence by fusing outstanding in-store experiences with sustainability-driven innovation, the most recent locations have been selected to reflect its dedication to delivering practical and sustainable clothing to important outdoor and coastal communities throughout the UK.
The company plans to run 14 retail locations throughout the UK after the three new locations open, and it says it is “actively exploring further UK expansion beyond 2025.”
British surfer Tom Kay established the sustainable surfing and outdoor B-Corp company Finisterre in 2003. The brand’s unique fleece was made to keep out cold winds and warm chilly bodies. Since then, the company and its offerings have expanded to include wetsuits, outerwear, clothing, accessories, and swimwear for both men and women.
