
Sweden-based company Transforming Textiles AB has introduced Sense-Tex, a pioneering fabric and yarn technology intertwining fashion, functionality, and sustainability. This innovative textile technology is designed to prioritise environmental awareness through its five-fibre yarn-thread makeup, incorporating two conductors and three natural fibres. By integrating sensor connectivity, Sense-Tex sets the stage for tech integration in textiles.
Spearheaded by Sara Rosberg, founder and CEO of Transforming Textiles, Sense-Tex is hailed as a symbol of sustainable fashion, offering a forward-looking approach to clothing that empowers users to make impactful statements through their attire.
With a global vision in mind, Transforming Textiles AB is striving to establish a state-of-the-art smart mechanical recycling facility by 2030. The company is dedicated to democratising innovations like Sense-Tex, ensuring accessibility without compromising health and safety due to financial constraints.
Founded by Rosberg in December 2020, the company saw Marcelo Bolt, a Space Engineer, joining as the Head of Technical Development in 2021. In September 2022, Transforming Textiles AB became a part of the BUILD program and relocated its headquarters to the IDEON Science Park/Innovation in Lund, Sweden. The company maintains a steadfast commitment to environmental preservation and sustainability, aligning with renowned organisations such as Friend of the Sea and Friend of the Earth. Their contributions span various thread and fibre innovations, including SeaCell, SMARTCELL (a zinc oxide-based fibre), Ramie (a plant-based fibre), and Silver fibres.
