Growing across all the verticals of apparel retail, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. (ABFRL) is in talks with Universal Sportsbiz Pvt. Ltd. (USPL) to acquire Wrogn. Wrogn is a casual brand co-created by cricketer Virat Kohli
As per media reports, the talks with Aditya Birla are in the advanced stages. It has also been said that USPL has been trying to find a buyer for Wrogn for some time. Wrogn sells fashion apparel, footwear and accessories for men and the company said the products are inspired by Kohli.
Both companies have not said anything official in this regard.
USPL brands including Wrogn and Single are retailed at over 350 points of sale with a geographical spread across 144 cities nationally. USPL also operates exclusive brand stores in more than 45 cities.
ABFRL has recently also acquired a controlling 51 per cent stake in TCNS Clothing for Rs. 1650 crore.
