Sandeep Raut, who is currently Laguna Clothing’s COO, has been promoted to the CEO of Tropic Knits.
CIEL Textile, Mauritius, owns Laguna Clothing, a leading manufacturer of shirts, and Tropic Knits, one of the top producers of knitted apparel including t-shirts, hoodies and joggers among other products.
In his new position, Sandeep will be in charge of the company’s P&L and overall business growth.
Sandeep has been a member of the management team at Laguna for about 12 years and he has received two promotions in the past three years. He has been instrumental in growing Laguna to its current heights in the past 12 years.
Sandeep expressed his excitement for the new opportunity while speaking with Apparel Resources, saying, “I am grateful to the CIEL management for this new challenge and I will definitely add value to the group in this new assignment.”
He continued by saying that although his focus would be primarily on product innovation, sustainability, growth along with profitability, he would also focus on strengthening the export market for the organisation.
Tropic Knits are manufacturers for mid to high-end brands mainly in Europe, USA, and other export markets. Tropic has a capacity of about 6 million pieces annually, and the CIEL group plans to double the capacity in the next three to five years. Tropic Knits has a top-notch manufacturing facility in Coimbatore.
