
JCPenney, one of the US’ largest apparel and home furnishing retailers, is set to introduce Fanatics Inc., an online retailer of licensed sportswear, sports equipment and merchandise, in its stores.
Now sports enthusiasts fan can visit their nearest JCPenney store, a one-stop destination, to shop for their favourite, latest and most popular team’s apparel.
“It is a delightful moment for us to partner with Fanatics. Now we are able to serve sports fans for all their local team apparel needs,” stated James Starke, Senior Vice President and Head of Merchandising, JCPenney said in a statement issued by the company.
A curated selection of local collegiate and professional sports team merchandise for men, women and children, representing all major sports leagues have been stocked at all 325 operational JCPenney stores.
Additionally, JCPenney is also planning to add around 325 additional stores exclusively for Fanatics.
Shoppers can enjoy a latest team gear, whether they are cheering on their favourite baseball team in the spring or football team in the fall as shops will be continually refreshed each sports season.
Fanatics shop experience can also be enjoyed at 50 JCPenney stores in top sports markets.
JCPenney has been taking such initiatives to attract consumers. Last month, it teamed up with singer-songwriter Lionel Richie for an exclusive home collection while it launched Frank + Lulu, a whimsical new brand of bedding and decor for the kids to target the young mothers.
