The 26th edition of the much-anticipated and the biggest garment technology trade fair of India GTE (Garment Technology Expo) raised curtains on January 19, 2018, with great enthusiasm at NSIC Exhibition Complex, (Okhla) New Delhi, India.
The exhibition was inaugurated by the newly appointed AEPC (Apparel Export Promotion Council) Chairman HKL Magu with bagpipers playing the music and creating an enthralling atmosphere in the backdrop.
The 4-day long technology festival is witnessing a promising presence of the reputed tech providers who have participated in the GTE, showcasing some of the newest innovations in garment technology.
The major attraction at the tradeshow is the mighty appearance of tech giants like IIGM, HCA, Magnum Resources, E.H. Turel Group, ShangGong Group, Tukatech and Ramsons who are exhibiting their latest cutting-edge innovations. On Day 1, these companies welcomed a good number of visitors at their respective booths.
One of the key exhibitors – Vibemac, the Italian juggernaut in Jeans Automation, started the technology expo on a positive note. “We are closing a deal with Raymond UCO Denim while we are in talks with Shahi Exports; we are hopeful to be on the same platform with them too,” Veeru Maknur, Sales Manager (India), Vibemac told Apparel Resources at GTE 2018.
The fair is also witnessing efforts towards sustainability in the garment industry as Krishna Lamicoat, a provider of recycled/sustainable materials is present here to showcase its strength(s). “This time we have come up with the recycled plastic films that have been made majorly by the under-privileged people of our society as we are offloading this work to them so that they get to live a better life,” Ashok Chhajer, Owner, Krishna Lamicoat, told us.
Day 1 of GTE 2018 also became the launch pad to the ‘partnership ceremony’ of Turel Group and ShangGong Group. It’s a collaboration between a prominent Indian dealer of technology solutions and a German expert in automation, to bring Chinese technology Mauser Spezial to the Indian market.
The first day of the exhibition was mostly visited by students and exporters.
Day 2 of the fair will start today with the first-ever ‘Apparel 4.0’ Conference which will focus on the use of ‘Industry 4.0’ concepts in the apparel industry. Industry veteran Mike Fralix, CEO, TC2, USA will give the opening speech. Other experts from across the globe will follow suit.
