PhygitalTwin, a UK-based tech-first sustainable marketplace has sparked a fashion revolution at Digital Fashion Week London by bringing to life digital designs from visionary creators. Hosted on 15th and 16th September 2023, at the Epic Games London Innovation Lab, the event featured collaborations with digital designers like BlancDeBlanc and Stephy Fung. The standout feature was PhygitalTwin’s revolutionary sustainable approach, significantly reducing costs and granting designers affordable access to their own fashion collections.
Julia Blanc, a Ukrainian digital designer, who joined the Fashion Week virtually, expressed gratitude for PhygitalTwin bringing her capsule collection to the London catwalk, given her inability to attend in person due to the situation in Ukraine. BlancDeBlanc’s collection called ‘Breeze of Birth’ will debut live during Paris Fashion Week on 29th September 2023 as well, embracing a shift from mass production to mass personalization.
Similarly, British designer Stephy Fung expressed joy in showcasing her Chinese-tradition-inspired collection and credited PhygitalTwin for making it possible.
Clare Tattersall, founder of Digital Fashion Week, commended PhygitalTwin as a tech startup producing luxury fashion locally, bringing digital designs to life in nearby factories.
PhygitalTwin prides itself as a zero-waste marketplace, employing strategies like on-demand production, virtual try-ons, and utilising neutral fabrics and a waterless pigment printing process to minimize environmental impact. The production occurs through a micro-factory network and an entirely digital supply chain. Despite its sustainability strides, it faces competition from similar digital fashion solutions offered by rival brands like Tribute and Faith Tribe.
