In this issue’s Cover Story, ‘AO Women of Impact’, we present the third edition featuring inspiring women from areas such as retail, sustainability, design, manufacturing, technology, social impact and education. Every year, more women participate and the range of fields keeps growing, which is very encouraging.
This recognition is not just symbolic. The women featured in this edition are making a real difference. Through their ideas, determination and leadership, they are building strong businesses, creating opportunities and bringing positive change to the industry.
We have also highlighted companies that are doing remarkable work in women’s empowerment. For example, Orient Craft is empowering more than 4,000 women in Jharkhand, helping them grow, lead and build better livelihoods. Similarly, Eastman Exports (EEGCPL) is supporting over 12,000 women, creating opportunities for them to learn, work and succeed.
This issue also features Deepa Kohli, CEO of Ravelheart India, who is building a modern sourcing model. We also bring you the story of the Mehra sisters, who are playing an important role in driving the growth of Active Clothing Co. Ltd. and taking the company to new heights.
Our Retail Pulse India section explored how retailers are boarding the airport retail boom. Airports across India are no longer just transit points for travellers; they are rapidly evolving into vibrant shopping destinations. What once meant picking up souvenirs or duty-free items now often includes browsing fashion collections, trying on footwear or buying last-minute accessories. With more people flying, longer dwell times and modern terminals coming up, airports are becoming prime spaces for discovery, shopping and indulgence.
The Fashion Raw Materials section featured Sagrika Vir, Executive Director, Vardhman Textiles, who shared how she is positioning the company’s fabric business for its next phase of growth with sharper customer focus, stronger technical capabilities and long-term competitiveness.
Our Trade Shows & Conferences coverage looked at how technology is reshaping Indian retail, as showcased at the 20th Retail Leadership Summit (RLS) held on February 16–17 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, the Fashion Business section decoded the success strategies of Q4 2025’s top brands and bestsellers.
The Industry Verdict section featured insights from industry leaders, who explained how they are responding to India’s move to introduce mandatory labelling for all apparel and home textiles. The new rule requires brands to clearly disclose fibre content, country of origin, care instructions and safety compliance on every product.
