It gives me a great pleasure to present the first issue of AOB for the year 2013. Having a wonderful experience working with the Bangladesh industry,TeamAOin this issue met up with many players from the sweater segment to understand the direction for growth. After consistent growth for nearly two decades the product has seen a dip of 6.32% in FY 2011- 12, from the previous FY. But since the stakes are high, the industry has already started upgrading both technology and product to stay a preferred supplier –steadily moving from hand flat machines to jacquard machines in a bid to scale up the value chain. Even our FFT Team brings to the reader the most recent of looks in sweaters that will soon be in demand… Following a detailed report on the recently concluded BATEXPO 2012, BGMEA, in association with Intertek and GIZ, organized a seminar focusing on sustainable issues and the industries’ attempt to Go Green and Efficient… In the much appreciated Tech Management segment, this issue features new developments in sewing machines, while the Myth Buster series talks about computerized sewing machines and somegeneral perceptions that have been uncovered.
