Close on heels of Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen calling upon the country’s envoys in European countries and the UK to explore new markets for Bangladeshi products protecting the readymade garment (RMG) export market during COVID-19 pandemic, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi on Sunday urged all the country’s diplomats, working in countries across the globe, to work towards tapping trade and business potential in the post-pandemic era.
The Commerce Minister made this call on Sunday while meeting the country’s newly appointed envoys to Uzbekistan, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
He said the diplomats would have to put in additional efforts to help increase Bangladesh’s share in the global market in view of the opportunities that would present in the post-coronavirus period.
Underlining that the country’s exports have made a rebound in July despite the odds, Tipu Munshi said diplomats would have to think out of the box, to help Bangladesh grab the emerging opportunities.
Stating that demand for made in Bangladesh products in Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait is already there, Bangladesh Commerce Minister said further demands can be created by maintaining good business relations with the countries concerned.
