
In the first part of a three-series report by Textiles Intelligence, a research company, has revealed the ten leading manufacturers of non-wovens.
The list goes like this: Berry Plastics (formerly Avintiv), USA; Freudenberg Performance Materials, Germany; Kimberly-Clark, USA; Ahlstrom, Finland; Dupont, USA; Fitesa, Brazil; Johns Manville, USA; Glatfelter (formerly Concert Industries), USA; Suominen nonwovens, Finland; and Twe group, Germany.

The optimistic future of disposable non-woven products along with predictions of strong growth in demand have prompted heavy investment in new nonwovens lines. There is mounting demand of consumer goods which offer higher performance and are of higher added value, such as diapers and feminine hygiene products among the rising upper and middle classes in Asia.
Reflecting the potential for growth in these markets, a number of the leading nonwoven fabric manufacturers are investing in new production lines in a bid to take advantage and increase sales.
