A meeting was called yesterday (2 September) in New Delhi by Textile Secretary Ravi Capoor IAS, which was attended by Raja M. Shanmugham, President, TEA.
The discussion centred around the implementation modalities, course design, scope and breadth of the upskilling component under Samarth Scheme to focus on enhancing the overall productivity by benchmarking with best industry practices.
Talking about the meeting, Raja M. Shanmugham averred “After discussing skill-related procedures, I appealed for the early reimbursement of ROSL and RoSCTL pending claims, ATUFs and previous MTUFs, RTUFs and RRTUFs subsidy to meet the financial requirements of the exporting units.”
He also said that he urged removing the concerned genuine exporting units from the category of ‘risky exporters’ and help them continue receiving drawback and IGST claims.
Raja M. Shanmugham said that TEA was delighted over Textile Secretary’s assurance to expediently address all knitwear-related issues and his efforts to ensure the growth of knitwear export units of Tirupur.
