Textile mill owners in Bangladesh could enjoy corporate tax at the rate of 15 per cent until 2025.
Media reports maintained this adding, subject to compliance with some conditions, the Government is set to extend the existing reduced 15 per cent corporate tax for the textile sector for the next three fiscal years, citing sources from the Finance Ministry.
Sources further, reportedly, added, the extension will be effective from 1 July 2022 (first day of fiscal year 2022-23) and will remain effective till 30 June 2025 even if according to textile industry stakeholders, the corporate tax rate is currently 30 per cent for non-listed companies and 22.5 per cent for the listed entities.
