
The Telangana Government is on toes to support handloom workers and is taking various steps in this direction.
The state has announced to establish new Research and Development (RD) wing for textiles to get new designs and provide funds to encourage the sector.
KT Rama Rao, Minister for Handloom and Textiles, IT, and Industries called upon the Government officials and citizens to wear handloom clothes every Monday to support handloom workers.
The Government will continue Telangana Handloom Weavers’ Savings Fund, Savings, and Security Scheme (TFSSS) for another three years.
Notably, the State Government has various schemes to promote handloom sector.
In an another development, Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS), in collaboration with NIFT-Hyderabad and Satavahana University, is launching BSc (Hons) Fashion Design and Technology course at TSWR Degree College for Women, Siricilla.
The course will start from 1 October this year.
