T. Rajkumar, Chairman, Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA) has said that mills should make investments in value added processes like weaving, processing, garmenting, made-ups and technical textiles, as the country has adequate spinning capacity and expansion is also taking place, particularly in Gujarat and other states. He addressed the suggestion during SIMA coinciding its 55th Annual General Meeting organizes its 7th CEOs Conference on the theme “A Road map to sustainability” in textile business. Dr. K V Srinivasan, MD, Premier Mills & Sree Narasimha Textiles and also Vice-Chairman of Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL) and South India Textile Research Association (SITRA) was the Chief Guest of the conference gave away SIMA’s Techno Facts Bench Marking Survey Awards to the top ten mills. Aruppukottai Ramalinga Mills bagged the 1st prize for the year 2013-14 and the same was received by its MD, V.Ramkumar.
