
In a big achievement, ATDC’s Guest Faculty Shamim Alam of ATDC Patna Centre has won the Bronze Medal under Tailor Category in the 10th International Abilympics (Olympics for skill competition) held at Metz, France.
Apparel Training and Design Centre (ATDC) is a society under the aegis of the Apparel Export Promotion Council, and is one of India’s largest vocational training providers which is operating in 22 states across India.
Shamim Alam (with locomotive disability) and Bhagyashree (hearing impaired) under the category ‘Tailoring and Dress Making (Basic)’ were under the mentorship from the year 2022 onwards.
The winner and mentor Gurpreet Kaur, Director, ATDC called on President of India Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi. The president congratulated them for winning medals and making the Country proud. She said that their success will motivate Divyangjan.
Rakesh Vaid, Vice-Chairman, ATDC honoured Shamim Alam for this excellent achievement.
Gurpreet Kaur was selected by International Abilympics Federation as a jury and expert. She accompanied the Indian Contingents to France and judged the contestants.
