Amidst falling apparel imports of the USA, men shirt remained the only category that showed positive trajectory during January to May ’23 period.
As per an analysis done by team Apparel Resources fetching OTEXA data, men shirt imports of USA valued US $ 1.26 billion during the review period, growing by 5.73 per cent.
Exports from China fell, while India, Bangladesh, Vietnam and Indonesia experienced growth in their respective men shirt exports to the US market.
Bangladesh shipped US $ 286.60 million worth of men shirts to the USA in the period under review, noting 7.85 per cent Y-o-Y surge. The country stayed ahead of Vietnam – its close competitor in the shirt category, with a fairly large margin.
Vietnam’s export of men shirt to the US valued US $ 207.20 million, increasing marginally by 1.10 per cent, whereas India clocked US $ 135.55 million (up 10.60%) from its men shirt exports to USA in the defined period.
On the other hand, China’s shipment fell substantially by 6.10 per cent in Jan.-May ’23 period to US $ 115.58 million.
