The MSME Ministry has announced that the sales of items of the Khadi and village industry products have increased, going from a value of Rs. 31,154.19 crore (US $ 3.64 billion) in 2013–14 to increasing to a value of Rs. 1,70,551.37 crore (US $ 19.96 billion) in 2024–25.
The manufacturing of these products increased from Rs. 26,109.07 crore (US $ 3.05 billion) in 2013–14 to Rs. 1,16,599.75 crore (US $ 13.64 billion) in the most recent fiscal year, according to the ministry.
The Ministry continued by announcing that the sales have gone up by a factor of 447 per cent, while production has increased by 347 per cent and creation of employment has increased by a percentage value of 49.23 per cent over the past decade or so.
Additionally, the Ministry has stated that the production of garments of Khadi went up from a value of Rs. 811.08 crore (US $ 94.93 million) in 2013–14 to a value of Rs. 3,783.36 crore (US $ 442 million) in the 2024–2025 period. In the most recent fiscal year, sales of these garments reached Rs. 7,145.61 crore (US $ 836 million), up from Rs. 1,081.04 crore (US $ 126 million) in 2013–14.
An increase of 49.23 per cent has been seen in cumulative employment, going from 1.3 crore in the fiscal year 2013-14 to 1.94 crore in the fiscal year of 2024-25.
