Janaksons Group with an extensive service network has always been at the forefront at providing the industry with the right tools to grow, and has marked its presence in the apparel and textile industry with an exhaustive range of technologies. Recently they achieved a milestone by acquiring the project for installation of water recovery plant at one of India’s largest terry towel manufacturer Trident’s textile plant in Barnala, Punjab. Euromec, Italy being the technology and equipment provider, the total capacity of the mega project is 10,000 cubic metres per day.
Enthusiastic with this new development, Pranay Behl, Director, Janaksons added, “Our team has been associated with Trident for the past eight years and our engineers have provided unabated quality service throughout this period. This is the third contract from Trident, and they have re-authenticated their confidence in our team.” He further adds, “This is another feather in our cap and we are fully geared up to meet the challenges in the Textile industry which is showing tremendous promise gradually.”

Trident is not only India’s largest but also among the world’s largest terry towel manufacturers, with an annual capacity of 162 million towels, 1 million bathrobes and 64,000 tonnes of yarns. Pranay further added that this project after completion would be the one of the largest of its kind in the Indian textile industry. “The project would comprise of micro filtration, ultra filtration and multi-stage reverse osmosis. The plant also has a revolutionary system for recovering PVA (Polyvinyl Alcohol) from the PVA bath through a membrane-based technology. The plant will be designed to recover/remove 90% of PVA from its bath; this technology has been adopted after successful pilot testings.”

Janaksons had been pioneers in introducing the biological technology for textile wastewater management in India, and believe that the most efficient way to deal with textile waste is biological. The specialty of this technology is that it removes the toxicity, instead of transforming them into a solid form as in a standard conventional plant producing sludge 4 to 5 times lesser that too at low running cost.
Through their zero discharge solution recovery up to 90-95% is possible. “The cost to recover 90% water with the technology that we are providing is Rs. 30 per kilo litre, the lowest in the industry, for the main cost is in the primary and secondary treatment stage which is just Rs. 4-5/mc for our biological treatment, as compared to Rs. 15-20 per cubic metre for others,” says Pranay. It is not only the technology but also the technical team backing the installation, which is critical. The Janaksons Euromec team has a combined experience of over 60 years behind them and is well positioned to handle all aspects of the project to provide a zero discharge plant, with its biological treatment, filtration and reverse osmosis.
