Coimbatore-based leading textile trade body Indian Texpreneurs Federation (ITF) is supporting textile industry’s workers with new ways of training.
It has started a tutorial video for training workers in spinning mills. This effort is in line with ITF’s strategy of a Digital Training Model.
With the attrition level moving to 30 per cent plus, the new training method is a routine affair in spinning mills.
The 15-minute-long video focuses on worker job roles; experienced workers, guided by an expert team, practically demonstrate how to perform a particular task including the best practices & safety tips to be followed on the shop floor.
The videos are in English, Tamil and Hindi languages.
ITF will be releasing a series of such tutorial videos that will cover a range of departments in spinning mills and a variety of job roles.
Prabhu Damodharan, Convenor, ITF told, “Whenever a new worker is recruited by a mill, such a video is shown to the workers in an exclusive class room repeatedly for few days. This ensures that the prerequisites and basic information are well understood by the worker before he is inducted into a hands-on training with actual machinery.”
The existing workers also watch these tutorial videos once in every month to refresh their memory regarding various work practices.
