The Export-Import Bank of India (Exim Bank) and the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) signed an MoU for the development and launch of Exim Mitra 2.0 – a trade facilitation and information portal to empower Indian exporters, particularly those in the MSME sector.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Rajneesh, Additional Secretary & Development Commissioner, Ministry of MSME and Harsha Bangari, Managing Director, Exim Bank, in the presence of Narayan Rane, Union Minister for MSME, Government of India and Rakesh Sachan, Minister of MSME, Khadi and Village Industries, Sericulture Industries, Handloom and Textiles, Government of Uttar Pradesh, during the inauguration ceremony of technology centres on 14th February 2024 at Greater Noida.
Through this partnership, Exim Bank’s “Exim Mitra” trade facilitation and information portal—which serves as an efficient one-stop shop for a variety of trade-related data, assistance, and support services for Indian businesses looking to enter international markets—will be further enhanced. A brand-new and enhanced Exim Mitra 2.0 web and mobile application are being developed by Exim Bank.
In addition, in an effort to increase the involvement of Indian MSMEs in the global value chain, the Ministry of MSME is developing the Global Market Intelligence System (GMIS), which will serve as a Central Knowledge Repository for export-related information on overseas markets. Through the MoU, Exim Bank will be able to access and use the Ministry of MSME’s Udyam Registration data in order to customise the resources and material available to registered Udyam users on the Exim Mitra 2.0 online and mobile app.
Exim Mitra 2.0 is set to deliver trade-related data and information in an intuitive way, guaranteeing improved accessibility and a smooth user experience. Multimedia material will also accommodate different learning styles and improve user engagement. Examples of this type of content include podcasts, blogs, and instructional films, such as a series on “Indicative Steps to Export.” Additionally, the site will have a chatbot that will enable visitors to quickly and easily obtain information by instantly responding to often requested inquiries. The portal will also support multiple languages in order to increase its audience diversity and reach.
