Human Rights Watch, an international non-governmental organization, recently published report ‘Work Faster or Get Out’ on the Cambodian apparel manufacturing industry documents breaching of worker rights at factories of leading Western retailers. The report examines in detail the part of supply chain which involves sub-contracting by the factories. “Most of the worst abuses occur in the smaller factories because nobody controls them, including the Government,” Aruna Kashyap, a Human Rights Watch researcher said. H&M, one of the retailers mentioned in the report, will be meeting Human Rights Watch in Phnom Penh by the end of this week.
