The Asia-Africa-Middle East Committee of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC) has elected Dewan Saiful Alam as its new chairman. Jonathan Lamport, who has finished his third term as chairman, hands the reins to Alam.
A spirited committee discussion that included a recap on the Chamber’s recent trip to Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates preceded the election. With his insightful commentary, Jonathan Lamport emphasised the important prospects and difficulties in these quickly expanding Gulf economies.
Along with sharing their thoughts and suggestions, the trip’s participants offered advice on promoting business development in Bahrain and the UAE.
Alam is in a good position to lead the committee in advancing trade and investment prospects for Hong Kong enterprises because of his broad experience in international business and in-depth knowledge of the Asia-Africa-Middle East area.
Yolane J. was re-elected as Vice Chairman at the meeting, guaranteeing continuity in the committee’s leadership. Furthermore, the team has welcomed two new Vice Chairmen, Kelvin CK Liu and Zaman Minhas Qamar, who will infuse the group with fresh ideas and vitality.
The HKGCC’s Asia-Africa-Middle East Committee is crucial in promoting trade and business ties between Hong Kong and these diverse and dynamic regions. Under Dewan Saiful Alam’s leadership, the committee is expected to continue strengthening these connections and supporting the Chamber’s members in exploring new markets and opportunities.
