Haryana, one of the leading states having textile and apparel hubs like Gurugram, Panipat and Faridabad, is in the final stageof launching its Haryana Self-Reliant Textile Policy, 2022-25.
Eyeing an investment of around Rs. 4,000 crore and providing employment to 20,000 youth, the policy’s draft is under discussion.
The draft, discussed by the Cabinet Sub-Committee, would now be placed before the cabinet for its approval,which will give a boost to the textile industry in the state–in addition to giving a boost to MSMEs.
Dushyant Chautala, Haryana Deputy Chief Minister,held a Cabinet Sub-Committee meeting to discuss the policy draft. He said that the State Government will soon implement the Haryana Self-Reliant Textile Policy, 2022-25 in the state.
Jai Prakash Dalal, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister and Anoop Dhanak, Labour and Employment Minister of the state were also present in the meeting.
Entrepreneurship expansion, investment, employment generation, grants, textile parks and other relevant topics were discussed in the meeting.
Under this policy, technical textiles will be specially encouraged and expanded. The promotion of synthetic fibre and regenerated fibre units has also been included in it.
