Leaders of the Readymade Garments Industry Forum gathered in an open and interactive discussion session at Gulshan Club, Dhaka, ahead of the BGMEA election, focusing on the topic of RSC (RMG Sustainability Council).
The event, attended by 180 business owners from various factories, was chaired by Faisal Samad, the Panel Leader of the Forum and a candidate for BGMEA president.
During the session, Nafis Ud Doula, the director of RSC, provided insights into key issues related to RSC Remediation, discussing the five main challenges in this area. General members actively engaged in the open discussion, sharing their views and opinions on various RSC-related challenges and potential solutions.
Dr. Rubana Haq, former BGMEA president, offered assurance to garment owners, stating, “If Faisal Samad becomes the next BGMEA President, I will personally ensure and guarantee that there will be not a single problem regarding RSC.”
Faisal Samad, addressing concerns raised during the discussion, presented potential steps he would take to address these issues even as he emphasised that, if elected, every member would work in the best interest of BGMEA.
