To help boost regional trade and network, experts in Bangladesh have called for enhancing the country’s connectivity with other South Asian countries.
According to media reports, this was underlined during a recent workshop titled ‘Mobilizing Private Sector to Strengthen Regional Connectivity Infrastructure’ being organised in capital Dhaka recently.
Speaking at the event, former Governor of the Bangladesh Bank, Dr. Atiur Rahman, said not only transportation infrastructure, but also capacity of Bangladesh’s ports and business hubs needs to be improved significantly to make connectivity with the neighbouring countries stronger.
The ex Governor of the central bank further emphasised increasing the private sector’s engagement in managing the connectivity hubs even as he, reportedly, underlined pacing up regional trade was of critical importance amidst the prevailing global situation.
