Organic apparels are a growing category in the international market, so the companies doing the same are also expanding in terms of new markets and added capacities. Delhi-based Parvati Fashion, a four year old medium-level company working in organic products is also on the growth track and is now starting to export to the US also. As of now it is working mainly with Germany and has recently sampled for the US; the first shipment is expected to go soon. Naresh Bajaj, Partner of the company informed Apparel Online, “We are entering into US through some wholesalers, which is good for growth but at the same time not easy, as suppliers are not ready to give small quantities in organic and we have to develop the vendors from the level of weaving, knitting to meet our requirements of small quantities.”
Apart from raw material sourcing, the firm is also working on compliance issues as it has its factory in Tughlakabad Extension and is planning to move it from there. “Recently we participated in a fair in Japan and buyers asked for compliance; so now we have to move from here. Right now our capacity is 10,000 pieces of women’s wear per months as we have multi products in knits as well as woven, all done totally in-house. It may take some time but definitely we will changeover to a fully compliant unit,” concludes Naresh.
