
With the holy festival of Eid ul-Fitr around the corner that would witness implementation of Eid holidays in the country, Bangladesh’s National Board of Revenue (NBR) has issued nine-point instructions for the customs houses to ensure smooth export-import activities.
This is as per reports, which added the NBR has also asked the customs to keep strict vigilance on abuse of bonded-warehouse facilities during the Eid vacation.
In the order issued in this direction by the Second Secretary Nazmun Nahar, the customs (export and bond) wing has been asked to ensure the presence of sufficient customs bond officials in the bond commissionerate offices while also conducting regular bonding activities under the supervision of at least a Deputy Commissioner.
The order further reportedly sought to ensure uninterrupted use of Asycuda World System even as the bond commissionerates, VAT commissionerate, bond control customs, excise and customs houses have been asked to keep strict vigilance to check abuse of bonded warehouse facilities.
