Close on heels of vaccination programmes rolling out in many of the export destinations in the West, order queries from buyers and brands have resumed again.
This was underlined in a recent media report, which cited several garment exporters from Bangladesh in this regard.
Speaking to the media, Managing Director of Pacific Jeans, Syed Mohammed Tanvir, reportedly, said the present trend is close to normal and like in the previous months, the order trend is not fluctuating even as owner of Fatullah Apparel, Fazlee Shamim Ehsan, on his part reportedly, underlined, “Right now, we are getting a large number of queries from buyers and brands regarding new work orders.”
Meanwhile, Managing Director of Cotton Group, Mohammad Hasan, reportedly, said that as situation is improving and people are becoming interested in getting vaccinated, buyers are getting ready for the next season even if President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Dr. Rubana Huq, begged to differ on this, adding that there is no change in the work order trend.
People have limited demand at this point in time; therefore, order runs will be low anyway, reportedly, stated Dr. Rubana, adding that current order volumes are around 40 per cent lower than the pre-COVID levels.
