Overall Indian textile and apparel industry is under pressure due to international and national challenges but at the same time there are some positive vibes too. Apparel industry, specially catering to domestic market is hopeful that coming festive and marriage season will boost the demand.
Recently concluded, GartexTexprocess India event at Delhi also witnessed positive indication as the event has not only good footfall from apparel industry, exhibitors were satisfied with the feedback from the visitor.
In discussion with Team Apparel Resources, directors and senior professionals of various companies shared their expansion plans and reasons for the growth.
Known for home furnishing product, BKS Textiles, Tirupur adding garment manufacturing in its portfolio, Vamani Overseas, Faridabad-based o of the leading apparel exporters has invested in automation to improve its production while Noida-based KBL Textiles, a leading company in jeans manufacturing is expanding its capacity 3 times as the company claims to have good business due to its focus on sustainability and quality. Sri Shyam Fashion, Ahmedabad-based denim producer company is also planning to expand capacity. Ichalkaranji- based Arvind Yarn & Fibers is now looking for forward integration and starting apparel business as the company has strength of in-house fabric.
As usual, irrespective of market condition, new D2C brands are continuously emerging in the market and they are actively exploring the industry as they don’t have any background of textile and apparel retail.
Divya Rai, Founder of The Run AGE from Bhopal who is also a nutrition consultant is in process to start his activewear label and were looking for the fabric and apparel manufacturers of the same. Chayan Chadha, Managing Partner of Kundan Automobiles, Pune is also launching his brand keeping the youth in mind. He is in touch with various apparel firms those are known for lower MOQs.
