
M/s Yun Sheng BD Co Ltd., a Chinese company, is set to pioneer the establishment of a composite factory encompassing textiles, garments, and accessories in the Mongla Export Processing Zone (Mongla EPZ), marking the first-of-its-kind facility in the region.
With a record-breaking investment of US $ 89 million, Yun Sheng BD aims to manufacture fabrics, garments, and garment accessories, representing the highest proposed investment by a single company in the history of agreements signed for factories in Mongla EPZ.
The agreement was formally signed recently at the BEPZA Complex in capital Dhaka between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Yun Sheng BD Co Ltd.,
The signing ceremony was witnessed by BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, NDC, PSC.
The agreement was inked by Ali Reza Mazid, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA, and Ji Lai Yang, Managing Director of Yun Sheng BD.
Yun Sheng BD’s production portfolio includes Woven/Knitted Fabrics, Padding, Quilting, Printing Fabrics, Embroidered Fabrics, Coated Fabrics, Laminated Fabrics, various types of tape, and Knit & Woven garment products.
This venture is anticipated to generate employment opportunities for 5421 Bangladeshi nationals. The signing ceremony was attended by key officials from BEPZA and Yun Sheng BD, including Member (Engineering) Mohammad Faruque Alam, Executive Director (Administration) A N M Foyzul Haque, Executive Director (Investment Promotion) Md. Tanvir Hossain, Executive Director (Enterprise Services) Md. Khorshid Alam, Executive Director (Public Relations) A.S.M. Anwar Parvez, and representatives from the enterprise.
