China’s garment export is continuing its upwards trend, indicating the global clothing market is reviving.
According to Apparel Resources’ analysis of data released by General Administration of Customs, China (GACC), the garment and accessory exports of the country valued US $ 12.19 billion in May ’21 as compared to US $ 11.12 billion in April ’21.
The May figures are 9.62 per cent more than what China exported in April ’21 indicating monthly growth is continuing to happen.
Cumulatively in January-May ’21 period, China’s garment exports upped 48.30 per cent and clocked revenue of US $ 56.61 billion as against US $ 38.16 billion in the corresponding period of 2020.
As far as textile export of China is concerned, the country slumped in January-May ’21 period by 3.10 per cent to hit US $ 57.88 billion export revenues.
The monthly downfall in May ’21 export figures was 0.25 per cent as textile export reduced to US $ 12.12 billion, compared to US $ 12.15 in the preceding month.
