
Canadian apparel imports noted 19.85 per cent yearly growth in November ’22; while the same declined by over 16 per cent from a month earlier.
As per official statistics, Canadian buyers imported US $ 1 billion worth of apparel in the 11th month of 2022, while the imports in October ’22 were US $ 1.19 billion.
Cumulatively, Canada’s imports remained highest of all time in the first 11-month period of 2022, valuing US $ 11.57 billion – all thanks to massive consumer demand for apparel in the first half of 2022.
All major Asian apparel manufacturing destinations noted substantial increase in their apparel shipment to the North American country in Jan.-Nov. ’22 period.
China remained the top supplier of apparel to the Canadian market with US $ 3.51 billion shipment value, noting 22.81 per cent Y-o-Y growth.
Bangladesh grew significantly by 38.73 per cent on yearly basis to US $ 1.61 billion; while Vietnam was marginally ahead of Bangladesh with US $ 1.63 billion worth of apparel exports to Canada during Jan.-Nov. ’22 period.
India performed well in the Canadian market as its apparel exports valued US $ 388.42 million that grew by 49 per cent on Y-o-Y basis.
