
Business leaders in Bangladesh have recently put forth various demands with respect to the upcoming budget for the next financial year, amongst which were cuts in taxes, boosting CMSMEs, etc.
Speaking as a special guest at a live pre-budget discussion, Chairman of Apex Group and an eminent businessman, Syed Manzur Elahi, reportedly, highlighted the importance of the SME sector even as he noted SMEs are the backbone in developed countries like Germany and the USA.
“…we need to facilitate this promising sector for creating jobs here,” said Chairman of Apex Group even as President of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) Rizwan Rahman, reportedly, proposed introduction of turnover-based loan instead of collateral-based loan for the CMSME sector maintained in order to strengthen CMSMEs.
