
The Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) has formalized a strategic partnership with Open Supply Hub through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on Wednesday. The virtual signing ceremony was attended by key representatives from both organizations, including BKMEA Director Minhazul Hoque and Hannah Lennett, Stakeholder Engagement Director at Open Supply Hub.
The agreement aims to enhance transparency and traceability across Bangladesh’s knitwear supply chain, aligning the sector with international sustainability and compliance standards. Open Supply Hub, a globally recognized platform offering free and open-access supply chain mapping data, will support BKMEA in providing comprehensive insights into manufacturing facilities and their linkages within the global apparel industry.
Participating officials also included Irem Yanpar Coşdan, Stakeholder Engagement Manager, and Nuzhat Bushra Shejuti, In-Country Community Manager from Open Supply Hub, alongside senior BKMEA representatives, both virtually and in person.
This collaboration is expected to position Bangladesh’s knitwear sector as a leader in responsible sourcing and operational transparency. It aims to increase confidence among international buyers, facilitate adherence to global due diligence regulations, and bolster the country’s reputation for sustainable and ethical apparel manufacturing practices.
The partnership underscores Bangladesh’s commitment to advancing sustainable industry standards and responsible production, reinforcing its status in the global fashion supply chain.
