The President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Faruque Hassan, recently called on Abdur Rouf Talukder, who has been appointed as the new Governor of Bangladesh’s central bank, Bangladesh Bank (BB) to congratulate him.
As per a press release, the BGMEA President, who was accompanied by BGMEA Vice President Md. Nasir Uddin and Directors Barrister Vidiya Amrit Khan, Neela Hosne Ara and Asif Ashraf during the visit, reportedly,has sought BB’s support in continuing the growth momentum of the RMG industry by facing current challenges, especially the impacts of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict on global economy.
Both parties, reportedly, deliberated on the present situation of the apparel sector, especially the problems being faced by the industry and possible measures to address those.
