
Leaders of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and executives from Marks & Spencer (M&S) convened for a high-level discussion aimed at advancing Bangladesh’s ready-made garment (RMG) industry and exploring new avenues for collaboration.
The meeting was attended by BGMEA Directors Nafis-Ud-Doula and Shah Rayeed Chowdhury, along with M&S representatives including Managing Director John Lyttle, Director of Sourcing & Technology Monique Leeuwenburgh, and Shwapna Bhowmick, Head of Bangladesh and India Operations for M&S.
During the discussions, both parties emphasized strengthening existing partnerships and exploring opportunities to expand M&S’s sourcing operations in Bangladesh. They exchanged views on the sector’s growth potential and the importance of fostering closer ties between international buyers and local manufacturers.
