A variety of trade-related topics were also covered in these exchanges, and both sides expressed a keen interest in finding new ways to work together to maximise the potential of their respective trade and investment.
Hassan delivered the ambassador an update on Bangladesh’s renewed efforts to diversify its apparel industry, specifically by stepping up its manufacture of high-end apparel made of synthetic fibres. Additionally, he assured the ambassador that Bangladesh is able to import yarn and man-made fibres from Indonesia.
Additionally, BGMEA urged Ambassador Subolo to promote Indonesian companies’ investment in Bangladesh’s man-made textile industry, underlining the industry’s bright future as a mutually beneficial alliance. He cited the industry’s desire to see additional apparel shipped to Indonesia and sought cooperation of the ambassador.
In order to promote cooperation between Indonesian fashion institutes and BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT), Hassan sought the Ambassador for assistance. According to him, the goal of the BGMEA is to improve the knowledge and abilities of BUFT students in sectors like product development, fashion design, technology, and other related areas.
