
A delegation of Bangladesh’s apex garment makers’ body-BGMEA, led by its President called upon the economic unit chief of US State Department Office of Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Bhutan Affairs, Ania Canavan, to discuss on issues related to the country’s apparel industry.
According to media reports, the BGMEA delegation, which included Vice President Miran Ali, Vice President Md Nasir Uddin and Directors Haroon Ar Rashid, Asif Ashraf and Abdullah Hil Rakib discussed with Ania diverse issues relevant to Bangladesh’s RMG industry including its prospects, current challenges and preparedness to pursue the next level of development and growth, etc.
In the said meeting were also reportedly present the Political and Economic Counsellor at US Embassy in Dhaka Scott Brandon; First Secretary, Political/Labour, US Embassy Dhaka Matthew Beh; Crisis, Stabilisation and Governance Foreign Service Officer, USAID Mission in Bangladesh Kaitlyn Denzler; and Labour Specialist, US Embassy Dhaka, Md Saifuzzaman Mehrab.
