
The indefinite strike by the Benapole Transport Agency Owners Association, demanding adequate cranes and forklifts for Benapole Land Port, has been called off.
According to media reports, the decision to call off the strike followed a recent meeting between the stakeholders, during which, port authorities, reportedly, assured to fulfil the demands as put forth by the transport owners at the country’s largest land port.
General Secretary of Benapole Transport Agency Owners Association, Azim Uddin Gazi, reportedly, claimed this while Deputy Director of Benapole Port, Mamun Kabir Tarafdar, on his part, stated that a decision has been taken to add three new cranes and three new forklifts within next 15 days.
“And within next two months, all the old cranes and forklifts will be changed,” further added Mamun.
