Speaking at the inaugural programme of a four-day textile fair – Dhaka International Yarn & Fabric Show, organized by CEMS, Minister of Industries Amir Hossain Amu averred that the RMG sector has been achieving export growth constantly, despite being the victim of international conspiracy and bad campaign. He said following the industrial disasters, Accord and Alliance imposed many conditions on the sector, and in addition to all of these – the US has also suspended GSP facility for Bangladesh in the name of labour safety.
“Bangladesh is working with all leading international brands and retailers and following compliance norms as per their specifications. Despite all the sincerity in fulfilling their demands, it is very sad that GSP was not restored,” added Amu.
