
Bangladesh’s apparel export to its single largest export destination, USA, has witnessed around 60 per cent growth during January to June period of 2022.
Reports underlined this citing data from OTEXA, an affiliate of the US Department of Commerce, as per which Bangladesh witnessed robust growth in terms of both value and volume in the first half of 2022 even as the country (Bangladesh) fetched US $ 5.01 billion from apparel exports to USA, recording a 60.30 per cent growth during January to June period of 2022.
In comparison, during the first half of 2021, Bangladesh exported apparel items worth US $ 3.13 billion to USA.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media, Executive President of Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), Mohammad Hatem, reportedly, underlined Bangladesh was doing better in the US market and the good performance would continue in the coming months subject to providing required support, including uninterrupted energy supply.
