The time of joining the big league of developing nations inching closer, Bangladesh apparently is trying to cobble up as many trade pacts as possible.
With reference to the same, it was expected to put forth a package of proposals, including the signing of Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) with Nepal.
Media reports maintained this citing concerned officials, according to whom this is supposed to take place during the upcoming foreign office consultation (FOC).
Reports further added Bangladesh officials were also expected to submit proposals related to reduction of tariffs, removal of non-tariff barriers and para-tariff measures and rationalisation of sensitive lists under SAPTA/APTA even if the other proposals set to be placed during the meeting include holding trilateral meeting on hydropower cooperation and air connectivity, finalisation of the model text of bilateral investment treaty (BIT) and amendment to air service agreement between the two countries.
