Bangladesh has participated in Fashion World Tokyo (FaW), held from 18th – 20th October, which is the largest trade show for the fashion industry in Japan.
Ambassador of Bangladesh to Japan Shahabuddin Ahmed inaugurated Bangladesh Pavilion on 18th October at the Tokyo Big Sight.
As per reports, under the market development initiative of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), Ministry of Commerce, Bangladesh, around 30 reputed exporters belonging to the apparel industry as well as leather goods participated in the fair.
It may be mentioned here that Japan is one amongst the most promising non-traditional market for ‘Made in Bangladesh’ apparel and is also the 11th largest export destination of Bangladesh overall, where Bangladesh exported goods worth US $ 1353.85 million in FY 2021-22, 14.38 per cent higher than the previous financial year.
